SUCCULENTS FOR THE AMATEUR
John Robert Brown (1946)

Pachyveria we have a number of plants which are hybrids of echeverias crossed with pachy- phytums. to these, the name Pachyveria has been given, a name combined from part of each parent name. some of the more popular are: p. glauca, fig. 173, with rosettes of leaves which are shaped like elongated leaves of pachyphytum compactum. Pachyveria scheideckeri, fig. 175, forms clusters of small rosettes with fine whitish- green leaves. p. clevelandii is probably better known ...

the hybrid crosses are then known by the generic name Pachyveria. one of the best hybrids is Pachyveria glauca which makes compact attractive rosettes. the leaves break off easily and will grow rapidly into new plants. the echeverias belong to the fascinating stonecrop family which includes the sedums, kalanchoids, houseleeks and other interesting crassulaceous groups. some of the most outstanding flowering members are numbered in the kalanchoids which include the ...
